Caga Tió is a tradition in the Jalón Valley and some other Spanish regions where families have a log with a painted face in the living room, which they feed with sweets and nuts during the lead-up to Christmas. This tradition is believed to have originated in medieval times, when people would gather around and ask a log to provide them with food for the winter. The origin may also be a variation of the burning of a Yule log in Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
