What’s life like when you buy a property in Albir, Alfaz del Pi, Altea or Finestrat? You’re not very far from the vibrant lifestyle and nightclubs to be found in Benidorm but, there will also be plenty to do in these towns too but, they may be a little more sedate! Throughout the year each town will have their own celebrations and Fiestas but, most will also have a good social scene something to suit everyone during the day and in the evening.
At the weekend it can be great to just relax by the pool for your villa in the Costa Blanca or take a cool bag for a day at the local beach but, it can also be fun to explore, try something new and join in with exciting activities.
With the Mediterranean Sea so close to your home in the Costa Blanca there are plenty of water sports available in all the towns at your nearest beach. You could rent a paddleboard or kayak and perhaps learn to jet ski or dive. Snorkelling is always a popular pastime for all ages and there is an array of boat trips to choose from.
Close to all these towns is the Finestrat shopping centre La Marina which offers a great place to shop away from the summer heat or you might enjoy the atmosphere of the local markets in cooler weather. Alfaz del Pi has plenty of fresh food, clothing and craftwork on sale but, the market in Altea old town has a unique atmosphere and charm of its own. Just outside of Benidorm the weekly Rastro (flea market) can be a great place to hunt out a bargain or two. In Spain outside of tourist season many places are closed on Sunday but, in Albir they have their weekly market so you can still enjoy a morning browsing the stalls.
The artistic will enjoy strolling through the beautiful old town of Altea where you can visit art galleries hidden in the narrow streets and enjoy live musical performances. Many places in all towns have music programs at some bars and restaurants but, also will stage festivals and concerts so do check local websites and papers to make sure you don’t miss out. If you want to experience something different by way of evening entertainment you can book the Medieval dinner show, located between Alfaz del Pi and Benidorm the current show is based on the Robin Hood legend but, all will have a medieval theme – including one with a Moors and Christians theme. You travel back in time to enjoy a banquet of ribs and chicken eaten with your fingers as you watch jousting, duels, tournaments and fantastic horsemanship.
The mountains that frame all these towns against the Mediterranean Sea offer a variety of activities from walking and cycling to horse-riding along mountain or coastal paths with wonderful views. There are plenty of excellent golf courses not too far away where you can enjoy a round or two with friends and have a cool drink afterwards at the 19th hole. If you want a Birdseye view of the Costa Blanca then close to Albir, Altea, Alfaz or Finestrat you will be able to find several places which offer you the chance to experience the thrill of paragliding or parasailing.
In the hills behind this part of the Costa Blanca there are a variety of theme parks, water parks and Animal parks that can keep the whole family entertained, many will offer discounts for multiple and / or joint entries. Just a short drive away in Villajoyosa you can indulge in a more relaxing outing by visiting the chocolate factory.
One thing is certain when you live in the Costa Blanca all the towns will have a variety of bars, tapas bars, cocktail bars and restaurants where you can while away relaxing evenings and some may have some live music to serenade your supper.
