Popular Markets - Weekly Market and Market Days

POPULAR MARKETS

The local weekly market is still popular in all towns and villages in Spain. On the Costa Blanca, locals head to the market to buy the freshest seasonal produce at the best prices. This will be something you too can look forward to when you buy a property in Spain. Hamiltons Real Estate will help you select the best property for sale on the Costa Blanca and the best area for your personal requirements and budget, making the purchase of your home in Spain a smooth and enjoyable experience.

The Weekly Market

The weekly markets also offer an abundance of household goods, leather shoes and bags, colourful pottery, clothes and, of course, souvenirs.

No matter where you choose to buy your property on the Costa Blanca, there will be a market near you at least once a week. If you choose one of the villas for sale in Moraira, a traditional market town and fishing port, every Friday morning the market takes place in the main car park. Or you may wish to head to the smaller, less crowded town of Teulada for its Wednesday market.

If a sea view apartment for sale in Calpe becomes your new home in Spain, you will benefit from one of the larger local markets, where you can meet all your shopping needs at reasonable prices every Saturday morning.

If your criteria for buying a property on the Costa Blanca includes fincas and country homes, which Hamiltons Real Estate has for sale in the Jalon Valley, you will be able to enjoy the antiques market which takes place alongside the river every Saturday.

Are you considering purchasing a townhouse in Javea Old Town? Buying a property in Spain here will immerse you in a more traditional Spanish market atmosphere at the weekly Thursday morning market, or you can shop and enjoy some tapas every day at the indoor market where local traders provide fresh local fish, meat, cheese and more at excellent prices.

When buying a home in Spain, why not buy into the local lifestyle and traditions too, while helping local traders by shopping, whenever possible, at a market near you? You will find that there is one not too far away every day of the week, no matter which town or coastal resort you choose to buy your new home on the Costa Blanca.

Market Days

Mondays:- Denia.
Tuesdays:- Altea.
Wednesdays:- Teulada and Benidorm.
Thursdays:- Javea Old Town and Alicante City.
Fridays:- Moraira.
Saturdays:- Benissa and Calpe.
Sundays:- Albir.

In addition to the weekly produce and general goods markets and the Jalon antiques market, there are regular "Rastros" in many of the towns. Basically, these are flea markets which are very popular with people who have chosen to buy a property in Javea, Moraira, Calpe or inland in the Jalon Valley. Usually held at the weekend, they can be found in Pedreguer, Teulada, L'Alfás del Pi and Benidorm.

Those who buy a property on the Costa Blanca frequently enjoy shopping for household treasures and furniture at the Rastros, but they also make an interesting excursion during the weekend even if you are not buying anything. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the morning can be completed with a nice tapas lunch nearby.
